Louisa Gerryts is an illustrator, painter and designer who works from her home in Riebeek Kasteel.

After completing her studies in Fine Arts at the University of Stellenbosch, she taught at the Hugo Naude Art Center in Worcester, worked as a film editor for a few years, lectured at in the Department of Art and Design at the then Cape Technicon, all the while illustrating for various editorial publications.

Her work includes botanical and ornithological drawings and paintings, illustrated maps, as well as editorial, educational and children's books illustrations.
